Instagram Life

Instagram is pretty much the photoshop of now. I use it for all my artsy photos that need a little something more to make it unique. I know I've shown you guys before some of my instagram pictures but from now on every Wednesday I will post four of the pics that I have posted in the previous week. I hope you guys like them! Sometimes I don't even edit pictures and it'll say #nofilter. But most of the time I do and I like to add them to the blog to make it a little more profesional and cool.
Let me know if you guys like this kind of post!

Outfits Of The Week: October 2012 Week 1

Hey everyone! So here's my OOTW video for the first week of October. I know not very Fall/Autumn appropriate outfits. I'm sorry but the weather here in Florida is just ridiculous! It's pouring raining one moment with major flooding and then it's hot and humid the next. It's hard to incorporate my favorite Autumn pieces so for now I will try to just add the darker colors. Hope you guys like it!

Inspiration Of The Day: Coco Chanel

No matter who you are you know the name Coco Chanel.
Born Gabrielle Bonheur Chasnel (they misspelled her name in the registry)
in Saumur France, August 19,1883.
She aquired the name "Coco" possibly because of the two popular songs she would sing, "Ko Ko Ri Ko" and "Qui qu'a vu Coco."She at first wanted to be on stage and become a singer but also worked as a seamtress for six years. After that she became Etienne Balsan's mistress and was showered with beautiful diamonds and the rich life. But soon began another affair with one of his friends, Capel who financed Chanel's first shops. This affair lasted nine years, though he was never faithful to her and even after marrying in 1918 he did not break off completely with Chanel. His death in a car accident, in late 1919, was the single most devastating event in Chanel's life.
She at first began to make hats and then took the city by storm when she began to design clothes. Menswear inspired clothes that is, which in the 1900's it was outrageous! She completely changed the outlook on fashion and women apparel. She has inspired so many people around the world and was the only fashion designer to appear on Times Magazine list of the 100 most influential people of the 20th century!  Her style is iconic, her image is known everywhere. Her name will always live on.

Quotes I love:

"The two men I’ve loved, I think, will remember me, on earth or in heaven, because men always remember a woman who caused them concern and uneasiness. "

"Women think of all colors except the absence of color. I have said that black has it
all. White too. Their beauty is absolute. It is the perfect harmony."

"My life didn't please me, so I created my life."

“To achieve great things, we must first dream.”

I could have written a book about her but I will only give you this very short version of her influence. Especially on a young designer

New Trend: Purple Lips

I've been doing this "New Trend" post for quiet some time and decided I needed to let you guys know that the trend has changed!! I have opted for purple lips for the next few months and I'm currently obsessed with "Up The Amp" by MAC. It's an amazing, moist amplifier that makes your lips look huge and the purple color isn't a bright as you may think! It's such a pretty purplish pink color with just enough brightness to make it stand out. I love purple lips and want to wear them more this up coming season. I have no idea why but I feel like it's perfect for Fall! Here's a short video showing you guys my lipstick, how it looks on and my thoughts on it. Thanks for watching!

What's your Fall lip color??

Fine, Long Hair

Hello Everyone! Many will think that this has nothing to do with fashion... You are totally wrong! Hair always complements an outfit and your face. Everytime a runway show happens, every model has a certain hairstyle, whether it's to potray a certain look or to just have it out of the way. But this is such a tricky aspect of our look. Why? Because sometimes we don't know what to do and how to style our own hair. In this "Hair Series" I will be talking mostly about fine, long hair because that's the kind of hair I have. Make sure to adjust any of these suggestions and tips to your own hair type and liking. By no means am I a professional. I simply would like to share my knowledge on how to style and maintain your hair.

Fine and Long Hair:
To tell if you have fine hair you'll quickly notice that it is very thin and might get greasy/dirty looking quickly. Fine hair doesn't necessarily mean that it isn't volumized. For example, my hair is fine because of its texture and how thin it feels. I don't have super thick hair or coarse hair.
Long is the length.

How To Maintain Fine Long Hair:
Something that I learned and have applied is washing my hair every other day. I can't go three days without washing because it quickly gets dirty looking and bothers me so much!
For now I am using Dove Intensive Repair Shampoo and Conditioner.
Another tip I learned is only using conditioner on the bottom of my hair, about three inches of it. Avoid your scalp since conditioner is used to moisturize and will grease up your roots instantly.
I brush my hair as soon as I towel dry it and start from the bottom and work my way up to avoid knots and tangles. I also use a big paddle brush since it works so much better and doesn't pull my hair.
Try to avoid using hot tools on your hair since it pulls your hair out and damages your hair aswell.
I believe blowdrying is better for occasional purposes.

Styles To Try On Long Hair/Ideas:
Long hair gives you the oppurtunity to try new hair styles. Here are a few ideas and photos on styles I liked the best.
Braids: Whether they are normal, french, fish bone, figure 8, to the side, in the back, waterfall ect ect.
There is a wide variety of braids that you can try out and a lot are simple that just require some practice.
Buns: Messy, sleek, really high or low. Buns and Top Knots help to get that super long hair up and out of the way and of your face. Especially great for those humid/hot days.
PonyTails: Another great way to get your hair out of your face.
Bangs: These can help give you a totally different look, but becareful since hair on your face usually makes you break out. Make sure to always clean your face every day.
Natural Hair Texture: Use your natural hair texture (straight, waves, and curls) to style your hair. Embrace what you have and don't try and change it. Instead enhance the look with hair accessories.
