Guest Post: Rouge's Top 4 Winter Staples!

Hey there and welcome back to the Fashion Queen Official! This post is part 2 of the collab I’m doing with the Queen herself. I’ve put together a post about my top 4 winter staples.  They are the Eco Tools Pure Complexion Facial Sponge (deep cleansing), Josie Maran Argan Oil, Kate Moss Edition Lipstick (01) and of course EOS Lip Balm in Blueberry Acai. Coupled together these products will make your winter a lot more bearable. Healthy and blemish free skin is your canvas, never forget that! Ever since I bough the facial sponge it has made a difference. The sponge initially comes hardened and then softens with water. I absolutely love it! You start off by applying soap to your skin, then apply water to the sponge and scrub away. It’s made out of very delicate fibers so it’s not abrasive on your skin. It’s great on sensitive and dry skin, thats what I love about it!
Next up we have the Josie Maran Argan Oil. If you haven't already tried it, I really hope after reading this post you will pop into your local Ulta/Sephora and definitely check it out! Argan Oil is pressed from the kernels of the Argan tree, native to Morocco. It can be used on your face or hair. A lot of people who suffer from acne have benefited from using this oil. Personally I have dry skin so I find that this oil is amazing and keeps my hydrated! I like to use it in my nighttime routine. My skin is still very much soft and not dry at all when I wake up. This can also be used as an eye makeup remover. Just dab some onto a cotton ball and swipe. Everything gone in one go, without the burn of hard chemicals.
Third item on the list is a lipstick from the Kate Moss collection. This is shade 01 and is a great red for all those holiday events. The formula is very nourishing so it won’t dry your lips. Speaking of lips how could one forget to purchase a lip balm for the winter? I picked this up and am in love with it! EOS lip balm in flavor Blueberry Acai, yes I said flavor because after applying it reminds me of blueberry muffins!

I hope you enjoyed this post! Thanks to Claudia for collaborating with me! Always a pleasure.

xoxo Rouge

Marshmallow Challenge!

Hey everyone! How has your week been? I love Wednesdays, it's the middle of the week and you're so much closer to Friday. After today it feels like the days fly by. School has been pretty crazy. I have midterms tomorrow and I can't explain how stressed I am (well, anyone that has been to college knows). But we all must do what we must to get ahead in life. For me that is school.
But earlier this week I was able to take some time off and film this super fun video with my sister! I had been dying to do another Sister Series video and make it extra fun! So I searched on the internet a bit and decided that I would do a "How Well Do We Know Each other" challenge mixed with a "Chubby Bunny" challenge. For every wrong answer we would have to stuff a marshmallow in our mouths and keep it there. The laughs and unexpected occurences are perfect. Haha!
I hope you guys like this video and find it just as entertaining and fun.

BTW If you have yet to enter my MAC Lipstick Giveaway go ahead an enter now! It will be up till October 17, 2014 (this friday!) And I will announce the winner in my next video! Good Luck!

My Favorite MAC Lipsticks for the Fall 2014

Hello everyone! Hope everyone is having a wonderful day!
I have been hard at work filming and editing my videos for you guys trying to come up with the best content possible. I love filming and being able to incorporate my beauty/fashion obsession has been so much fun! I think it's noticeable when someone is doing something they love. You can just see it in their face and hear it in their voice.
A few weeks ago I unleashed my Mac Lipstick Collection which was so crazy to film, but probably my favorite video ever. This week I am bringing to you my top 6 Mac Lipsticks that I will be wearing for the Fall time this year [2014]. I do have to mention, it was very difficult choosing from my collection. I love them all and don't really follow trends on what is in to wear (same goes with nailpolish and clothes). But for the sake of this video I limited myself to 6 of my favorite fall appropriate colors that I think you guys would like and also aren't the most common choices. Nothing like switching everything up for the new season.
Would you guys like to see my Winter Lipstick choices?
Leave your answer in the comments below!

BTW I have moved my closet shop to this new store called Vinted
It is amazing and I absolutely love how easy it is to buy and sell.
Check out my store! I will be posting more items soon :)

GRWM: First Day Of School '14

Hey everyone! Today I am updating you guys with my Get Ready With Me video where I show you guys what I wore on my First Day of School. But before I do I just want to mention how it went.
If you guys keep up with my twitter rants then you'll know that I have recently graduated from my college with an Associate's degree in English. I finished in the summer and transfered into my public state university for the fall semester. To be honest it was a very crazy (almost tramatic) experience and I'll tell you why.
I have always been a very shy, introvert kind of person. I keep to my self all the time and don't like change, at all. I was use to going to school just two minutes from where I live. I was use to going to classes with my sister and only having classes in the mornings or afternoons. It was a very chill two years for me. It was a nice transition from being homeschooled to actually going to school.
But that school (my community college) was nothing compared to my state university. It has ten times more students, a bigger campus, and more difficult classes. Instead of driving only two minutes I now drive twenty-five minutes to get there and another twenty-five to come back, for two days a week. That's 100 minutes or an hour and ten minutes a week. Incredible jump from the ten to fifteen minutes I would spend in a week driving to my community college.
Maybe this isn't so drastic for other people, but for me it was. Especially since I have anxiety driving. Add on my social anxiety and it is a party twice a week. The rest of the week I'm busy worrying about school and doing homework. Most of the homework I don't even finish (it's mostly reading literature and books, but since I have three english classes it's hard to read everything before the day of. I usually have an hour break and take advantage to catch up on the pages assigned).

But it's not all bad. I love the classes I'm taking which are Medieval Literature, English Grammar, and Shakespeare Histories. All of my professors are extremely nice and understanding. They are available to speak to you and help you understand the material. All three are challenging classes and push you to break away from your comfort zone as a writer and as a being.

So now that I have gone off on my tangent I hope you guys understand me a little bit more throughout the next two years of my life at my new school. Soon it won't be my "new" school haha.
For more updates follow me on twitter via the button at the top of this page.
Hope you enjoy my video and acquire ideas for a makeup look or outfit for school.

Product Review: L'Oreal Miss Manga Mascara

hey everyone! Today I have a product review for you guys. I know, I know, I am always reviewing mascaras. Well you know what? I love long, huge, volumenous lashes. Next mascara I want to try is a higher end one, maybe Too Faced? Any recommendations are appreciated.
Well, the one I am demo'ing for you all today is the L'Oreal Miss Manga Mascara, the waterproof version in black. As you can see in the video, I absolutely hate the application/brush. What's the point in buying something that is uber goopy and you have to wipe just to use? That makes absolutely no sense to me. Plus I hate when the wand is flexible.
I do, however, like the way my lashes look after using this mascara. I believe that if I use a bit more product my lashes will look even thicker.
Hope you guys enjoy the review/first impression and let me know if you have ever tried this product!

Pumped Up! Colossal Volum'Express Mascara Review + Demo

Hey guys!! I am so loving my new mascara and wanted to share with you guys my first hand experience with you on camera. Today I will be showing you guys the new Pumped Up! Colossal Volum'Express Mascara from Maybelline. It claims to have 16X more volum and has a new innovative curved brush.
Here are my thoughts. I wish I had found this in a waterproof version and at the moment I'm not even sure they make that kind. If they did it would work even better. I feel as if it does give me a lot of length and even volume, the two main qualities I look for in a mascara. If you'd ever tried Maybelline's One by One mascara it is sort of like that but with added volume. I love that it doesn't clump and it holds the curl pretty well, for a non-waterproof mascara. Over all I loved the mascara and I don't say that often!

Do you have a product you'd like me to review? Please leave it in the comments below!

Beauty and Shoe Haul 3!

Hello loves! So today I am going to share with you guys my third beauty and since I bought a bunch of shoes over the past few weeks I decided to throw those in there too. I hope you guys like the video!
As you know I came back from New York a week ago but have been so swamped with my spring semester starting and the hectic trip home (because of a snow storm and all) that I really didn't have time to do any videos. I also have been talking to some other youtubers and we have been discussing to do some collaberations together! (Expect that very soon loves!)
So I know you guys can definetly relate when I say life is crazy! I wish I could just go back to my vacation and chill and take pictures for my blog. But I can't! Girl gotta work unfortunetly, lol.
Without further a do here is my first video of the year and (surprise, surprise) it's a haul! I just can't control myself around makeup! Besides I really want to expand my collection and youtube is such a good excuse to do exactly that, hehe. Enjoy the video!

NOTW: Alpine White & Cherry Fashion Rings

Hello beauties! Today I wont be posting a video since I still need to finish editing before uploading. I'm really sorry about that. But I have a nail post for you guys. I am so obsessed with this color it's not even funny. Last week I wore Alpine Snow by OPI on my nails.  It is a gorgeous, crisp white shade that literally resembles snow. You all know I am an Essie fan for life but I sometimes venture out and try different brands. So I wanted to give this polish a go and it truly blew my mind. It's amazing the opaqueness of this color. It lasted such a long time without any chips! (Unfortunetly I some how got pen marks on my nails by the end of the week. How'd that happen? I have no idea lol).
But, I thought this was a perfect color for December and wanted to show you guys how they look. (I told you white nail polish would be on my winter essentials list. Watch the video here).

Now let's talk about these gorgeous midi-rings! White and gold = Perfection! Even more so that the gold rings are midi-rings. My friend Nia, from Style Of Colours, was asking for some bloggers to review her new jewelry line: Cherry Fashion. (Def go check out her online shop! It is amazing and her jewelry is so chic!) She offered to let me review three of the midi-rings of my choice. Two are being featured here today. The ones I'm wearing are the chevron midi-rings!! I am in love with them! The gold color is amazing and the size is perfect! Though it is adjustable. I am completly impressed with the quality of these rings. I am also so very, very thankful to Nia for being so patient with me as the first package she sent out got lost! But thankfully the second one arrived safely.
Thank you so much Nia! I love my new midi-rings!

Winter Makeup Essentials

Hello my dears, how is everyone today? I hope you're all doing well and are having a wonderful winter break! Speaking of a winter break I am so excited to be going on vacation this Friday (don't worry there will be a video up). But because I'm going on vacation I won't be posting videos up next week (it's very difficult to do since I wont have wifi to connect my laptop. I'm sorry dolls!). But expect more videos up when I return. Vlogs, maybe? Let me know if you're interested in seeing a bit of my vacation!
I'll be letting you know, via Instagram and Twitter, where I'm going soon! So stay tuned because I know you'll be excited!
But, back to our video for today. I wanted to share with you guys my makeup essentials for the winter time. I decided to do this since it gets so cold (in other places) that sometimes it's hard to accessories when you're trying to stay warm. These are the main products that us girls switch up season to season. Here are the ones on my winter list this year.
I hope you guys like this video! Let me know what are your winter makeup essentials!

BCA: Week 4: My Favorite Eye & Misc Products!

The Beauty Crown Awards are a yearly favorites collaborative effort including beauty bloggers around the globe. The Beauty Crown Awards were created by Lily from Beauty with Lily Liz from My Pretty Obsessions, Jackie from Five Two Certified, and Shalunya from Shalunya & Boyet. We felt that a collaborative effort from a large number of beauty bloggers would be much more interesting to our readers and would garner more attention. The Beauty Crown Awards are a 5 week event with each week covering types of products.

Week 4 - Eye & Misc Products - Dec 23 - Dec 29, 2013
Week 5 - Facial Care Products & Tools - Dec 30 - Jan 4, 2014

Week 4 of the Beauty Crown Awards covers Eye & Misc Products. Below are my Week 4 selections:
*None Of These Pictures Are Mine*

EYES

Primer: I've tried a lot of primers in the past two/three years. But my favorite is the MAC paint pots. They don't move, crease, or make your lids oily. They hold the shadows and last all night long! I love using Painterly as a base or by it's self. I'll need to get a new one because the one I have has already run out!

Pressed Shadows: I want to say MAC but some may just roll their eyes. I'm sorry! But I must speak the truth. Their pressed shadows are amazing! They are super pigmented and last such a long time. No major fall out and such a wide variety of shades to choose from.

Pigments: I am currently loving Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics' pigments. They are incredible!
Sephora now carries their Lip Tars (which I recommend). I get so emotional seeing this brand grow and make it big. I remember when they were so unknown!

Mascara: Ugh, what a toughy! I am stuck between my always trusty Maybelline Full N' Soft mascara and my new favorite Revlon Lash Potion. Both do an amazing job and have their own unique qualities. Full N' Soft is perfect for an effortless, natural makeup look. Lash Potion is the one you want to grab when you're heading out to a party. It will give you long, thick lashes.

Eyeliner: I've got two (I'm such an indecisive person). For liquid liner I reach for my Stila all day waterproof liquid liner for a perfect winged liner. When I want a pencil liner I get my Maybelline Define-A-Line waterproof pencil.

Cream Shadows: I have a small palette of cream shadows from Revlon that are amazing! They are shimmers and range from cream colors to brown/bronze shades. I love that with just a swipe you can blend it effortlessly on to your lid and you're done!

Palette: I would have to say my Stila palette (don't ask me the name cause I have no idea!). It is amazing how pigmented the shadows are. The palette is a trio ranging from very light beige, a a soft brown, and a reddish sparkly brown. I love them so much and use them often in the winter time.

*No Picture Available sorry*

Brow Kit: I don't use a brow kit as my brows are super thick. But when I do I use the Milani brow kit that comes with a little brush and tweezers. It also has two shadows to fill in your brows and a highlighter.

MISC

Beauty Magazine: To be honest I don't know any beauty magazines! (Omg this is embarrasing lol). My favorite magazine to read, that has beauty related articles, is Glamour. It's perfect for me as it gives me an insigt view on celebrity fashion, but it also shows me the trends for next season.

Beauty Subscription: I really wish I had a beauty subscription right now lol. But I guess I will tell you which one I would want. I think it's between Ipsy and Glambox. I don't know, I've heard great )and bad) things about both. But I'm intrigued by both so it's a tie!

Beauty Product from Subscription: Well, can't really comment can I?

I hope you guys enjoyed this post. Did you participate too?

I Love Make-Up Tag!

Hello loves and welcome back to my blog! I know it's been a crazy week and we all just want to kick up our heels, or is that just me? Well, for those who want a quick read continue reading!
I was tagged by the lovely Micaylah from BeautifulJewell. Once you're done reading this you can check out her answers to this quick and fun "I <3 Make-up Tag". Hope you enjoy it and get to know me a little better!

1. When did you begin loving make-up?
It took me a long time to love make-up. I'm very lazy so I didn't like to take the mascara off (mascara was my worst enemy lol). I would say I started loving make-up around the age of 15/16. That's when I started experimenting more.

2. How do you feel without make-up?
I'm not the kind of girl that really cares to dress up every single day. I get tired and lazy so quickly. But when I go out without make-up I feel like I'm being looked at the wrong way. I don't even know why! Who cares if I'm wearing make-up or not? I can be beautiful without it. Too bad society makes us girls feel the need to wear it. We shouldn't feel bad about ourselves and yet we still do (myself included).

3. What do you like about make-up?
I love everything about make-up. The different textures, shades, forms, and styles. I love that you can create a whole different look or just enhance your natural beauty. I love that you can try purple lips today and a nude lip tomorrow. The fact that it's not permanent gives me liberty to try new things and not be afraid of messing up.

4. Three holy grail items:
-My Cereve Moisturizer to get rid of all my dry, problamatic areas.
-My Nars concealer that works magic under my dark circles.
-My Full N' Soft Mascara by Maybelline that makes my lashes incredibly long!

Blogs I tag!
(If you've done it already then tag someone else :))

Beauty Haul 2!

Hello my beautiful readers!
Wow, it's been a tough week so far because of tests and finals. But, I wanted to show you guys the new little make-up stash I have (that has been growing ever since I started this channel!). I love make-up and I got a few new bits to review for you guys and make better make-up tutorials. I hope you guys like my video and let me know if you have used any of these products!
I'm so sorry for the lack of posts and videos for these past few weeks. I've been really busy in school and it's pretty time consuming (you all know that). Thank you for being patient with me!! I hope to have more videos next week!!
I posted a picture on Instagram asking which make-up look would you guys like to see. Thank you all for your feedback! The winner will be revealed on Friday!!
Till then, I hope you're having a great week!!

BCA: Week 2: My Favorite Face Products!

Hello beauties! It's week 2 of the Beauty Crown Awards! To upload your own post click here.
This week we are talking about our favorite face products! I have quite a few and will just start raving about them now haha. Hope you like the post!

Week 2 - Facial Products - Dec 9 - Dec 15, 2013
Week 3 - Lip & Nail Products - Dec 16 - Dec 22, 2013
Week 4 - Eye & Misc Products - Dec 23 - Dec 29, 2013
Week 5 - Facial Care Products & Tools - Dec 30 - Jan 4, 2014

Week 2 of the Beauty Crown Awards covers Face Products. Below are my Week 2 selections:

FACE

Primer: My favorite primer would have to be the Covergirl & Olay primer (even though it says it's for age prevention, you can never start too young!) It is a perfect primer that doesn't leave your face oily and holds your foundation in place. Love the lightness of this product!

BB Cream: The BB Cream I am currently using is from Maybelline. As much as I want to believe it evens out my skin, it does not. Sad, I know. But I like to wear it as an every day face product as it is super light on my face and it has SPF 30. It truly doesn't feel like a sunscreen because it is lighter and has just a tiny bit of coverage to cover up my dark circles. (But it doesn't banish them from existence lol). I need to try a few more BB creams before I settle down on my favorite but I did want to let you guys know my thoughts on the one I've been using.

Foundation: Last month I review the Revlon Colorstay Foundation for dry skin. Now that I've been using it non-stop I can tell you it is one of my favorite foundations!! I absolutely love this foundation as it doesn't show my dry areas and it actually hydrates my skin. It covers all the imperfections even though it's not full coverage. And because of that it doesn't feel cakey or heavy on my face. Omg! You have no idea how happy I am with it. This product also has SPF 15.

Powder: For powder I am currently using Revlon photoready powder. I think it does a fine job and keeps my face perfectly matte and set. I do have to admit that if I put too much it will make me look dusty. The pesky peach fuzz on my face makes powders look very noticeable! So I literally only swipe it on my face once. This product also has SPF 14.

Concealer: You girls have heard me talk about this product over and over again. But when you find something that becomes a miracle worker you can't stop talking about it! Like I've mentioned, I suffer from dry skin especially under my eyes. That are gets so dry for some reason and no matter how much water I drink or how much moisturizer I put it's not the best place to put on makeup. It's the hardest! So when I tried the NARS concealer in its liquid form in #1 I was in love!! Not only was it full coverage it was so light that it didn't feel like anything was on me. Plus it doesn't settle into all the annoying creveces on my skin. I recommend this 100%!!

Brightener: I've been using the maybelline Lumi brightner and love it!! I use it something on my cheek bones and under my eyes to highlight those areas. It is so amazing and it's easy to put on. With it's brush applicator it is an easy way to place the product where you want it.

Blush: I absolutely love Fleur Power by MAC I think it's amazing and it suits so many different skin shades. I love using it some times as just a bronzer since it has a golden undertone to it. I also love to use it by itself as it is beautiful on its own.

Bronzer: My favorite right now has been the MAC Minerilized bronzer in Give Me Sun. That is amazing and so fluffy (for lack of a better word to describe it's consistency). I love how easy it is to apply to the face and since it is so pigmented you really don't need that much. I love using it to give me a sun-kissed glow around my face. It's much more natural to my matte bronzer from MAC.

Highlighter: I recently purchased the MAC Mineralize SkinFinish in light. That thing is amazing to highlight and brighten. Since I haven't used it as much as I would have liked I can only tell you that so far I love it!

Palette: Oh man, tough one because I don't own any palettes!! Yes I know shocker. I bought the Naked 2 not too long ago (you'll see in my Beauty Haul coming out on Wednesday) but I can't tell you what I think of it just yet.

Product Review: Clump Crusher Mascara

Hello my beauties! Today I have a special post to share with you guys. I am reviewing the much talked about mascara! Now for some reason everytime I do a video reviewing something I change my mind by the time I write the post. It's because I use it more often once I have done the video. Not my fault! I'm a little confused with what I'm doing in the video as I'm pretty much doing two things in one: 1. reviewing the product and 2. my first impression. I don't think that makes sense so this will be the last time I do a product review without trying out the product for more than a day. Sorry loves!
Well, back to my review. After filming I started using it more and more. I find that it doesn't give me the desired volume I want or the length I want either. It's an alright mascara and it doesn't give you clumps. But I still use my full n' soft mascara to give my lashes more length and volume. I want to find a mascara that doesn't need the help of two or three others. I want one that's perfect.
So the search for the perfect mascara goes on!
Soon I will be reviewing the lash potion mascara!
(and yes this time I will have tried it out more than once! lol)
