New York Dream Apartment VIA Vacancy.com

Hey everyone! It's pretty soon to be blogging again I know but I've gotta tell you about this apartment I found while on Vacancy a website to find apartment anywhere in the US!
So I found this beautiful building in New York-you guys already know! It's a pre-war building with an amazing exterior and the building is in a corner street! My favorite kind of building! For me as a student I would love to live right there in the middle of the action especially in a place like New York! This apartment because it's a pre-war building should have big open rooms and this apartment has 2 beds and 2.5 baths. I really like having 2 bathrooms and 2 bedrooms just because I'm OCD about it but I also would have a roommate to share the cost of the massive condo. Now here's what would make it awesome!
Now I wouldn't want just anyone one living with me because really I don't trust anyone to handle my apartment with me. So I'd have my sister or close friend live me and divide the cost since we'd both be going to school in New York. This is the best solution since we'll be able to have our own place and share our stuff but at the same time we have our seperate rooms and baths. This apartment is awesome because it's just a few blocks away from the beautiful central park and also a few blocks away from the MOMA mueseum. Central Park and the MOMA are both my favorite sites in New York and I would love to be in the center of it all.
My fantasy for the apartment would be to have semi dark wooden floors, a modern edgy vibe in the apartment with black and white walls and silver home decor. I would also love a flat screen and maybe a comfy black couch with a white furry rug. A glass table and silver iron chairs for the dining table. The rooms would be personalized to our own tastes but I know my room would have a wall of bookcases and then another with a painting. The walls painted white and black designs. I would really like a Parisan theme.
I think that having my own apartment would be awesome in itself but to have it decked out to my own liking is even better! For more information and to visualize the apartment please visit the link ->

Secrets To Looking Stylish: Part 2

Secrets To Looking Stylish: Jewelry

In my last post I talked about how to be stylish by just primping your hair and make up but there's more to being stylish than just flawless grooming. Accessories play a big part in tying an outfit together and I'll tell you why. We're going for an overall look and our goal is to look effortless without looking as if we tried too hard. With accessories we can spice up our outfit and change it as many times as we want! With just a tee shirt, a pair of jeans and some high heels we can have at least five (5) different looks with the right accessories! It transforms plain into edgy! Or ordinary into extraordinary! Here are some tips and trends!

Tips:

When you're looking for different accessories at the mall, keep in mind your outfits and your previously owned accessories. Wouldn't want to have too many necklaces and not enough rings!

Make a list of all the jewelry and the handbags you have including color and style. This will help you remember what you have at home.

Look for certain statement pieces or things you wouldn't normally go for but are comfortable wearing.

If your wardrobe has a lot of neutrals(black, white, gray, navy, and brown) try looking for jewelry that has colored stones, or big statement necklaces.
EX: Designers have gone mad with size and the new trend is the bigger the better! We also see collar necklaces, necklaces that are close to the neck which are my favorite! But there's also wide and long necklaces with lots of details. Another statement piece is the stacked necklaces. Either a bunch of different pearls or chains in different shades. Sometimes they have charms hanging or feathers. These are particularly my favorite because it gives your outfit a focus point and then you can add other simpler pieces to tie loose ends.

But if necklaces aren't your thing or at least not these giant ones we still have many options.
Bracelets this season are going to be vivid, odd shaped and thick. There's many different ways to stack them and pair them together. Remember color and tecture don't always have to be set together by the book. You can mix and match as much as you like! And as long as there is a main theme though out the bangle set. For more on Stacking Bangles visit my previous blog post HERE

Here are a fe EX: There are vivid colors for the fall and 2012 season. Who would have thought bright reds, maroons, bright oranges and purples would be soo in this fall! Don't forget to mix and match the items in your own closet and jewelry box! You don't need to buy every single trend setting piece, you might just have a few hidden gems in your closet!

Our last piece of jewelry that I will mention today is the cocktail rings! There odd shapes and sizes are beautiful but sometimes intimidating! Rest assured that it really looks flattering on anyone as long as it matches your outfit! Here are a few I fell in love with!

Many different styles from Midevil armor ro shiny gems, to even vintage rings.

If you're more of an earring kind of girl there's still ways to make your look stand out. Keep in mind the color and style of your clothes.

Choose vivid, bright colors with plain neutral clothes. Or choose smaller stud like earrings for more embellished shirts and dresses.
Here are a few very bold pieces from different collections and designers!

If you'd like to save a little money you can always make some of these pieces your self! Create stacked necklaces, chunky necklaces, tassle earrings and more! Just search through the amazing DIY blogs and videos!

In our next article I will discuss more Accessories that can change your outfit!

Secrets To Looking Stylish

Secrets To Looking Stylish: Grooming

For anyone who loves fashion and is obsessed as much as the next fashionista, it is inconcievable to look unstylish at any moment of our day. Every outfit we put on has to define our personality and the vibe we want to give off. We pride ourselves in looking good and we take our time so we feel good too! But putting together an impeccable outfit isn't always so simple. We may see others on the internet, our favorite blogger for example, who have these amazing outfits and they look beautiful no matter what they are wearing! It's almost outrages to see them going out in a casual tee and some skinny jeans but for some reason they look like a million bucks! We envy them and want to have that kind of talent as well. So let me tell you there is a way! Don't think it has anything to do with how much an item of clothing costs! It seriously doesn't. The real secret is in grooming. Yes! Grooming! What I mean is hair and make-up, if you have those two key parts of an outfit down packed then you are set for life.

Let's break down a few key categories I think are the most important ones when prepairing and outfit.

Hair:

Hair defines who we are and is something we are constantly changing every day, every moment. An easy way to stand out instantly is through our hair! Whether it's our hair cut, color, or style it identifies us as individuals. In that case, we should always take care of it and not torture it too much with heated tools or treatments. Take care of your hair and treat it right.
When we start off our day we should style our hair flawlessly or as much as possible. It's not always easy and takes a lot of practice! We don't all have our own hair stylist at the ready to beautify us every morning, so we must learn from our youtube friends. Once you've managed those locks you'll feel like your outfit is already taking form, in just moments you begin to transform into your stylish self.

Make-up:

This is another important key to pulling your outfit together and over the edge of ordinary! When we add just a little bit of natural looking make up to inhance our beautiful features it gives you a more polished look. If you love your eyes concentrate on that specific portion of your face, add eyeliner or just mascara to line your eyes and define them. If you want to add a neutrual eye shadow like brown tones or beiges. Learn all you can about the colors and shapes that work the best for you skin tone and eye shape it will help out a lot if you are wearing make up that looks natural and isn't unflattering.
If you prefer your lips then make sure to choose a shade that also complements your skin color and goes with the outfit you are wearing. You can even play up your cheeks and add a bit more blush or bronzer to make them look contoured. In the end it's all about completing the look you are going for. Most of the time we prefer to use make up to inhance our natural beauty so don't forget to just add a little at any moment to give you just a boost of confidence.

Fashionista on a Budget:

When grooming you don't have to use so much money on products, here are a few tips on how to save:

*Hair is a major up keep for any one who loves healthy looking hair. You need to go get a hair cut or trim every 3 months so it can stay healthy and strong. If the salon is costing too much consider cutting your hair yourself or going to a friend who knows how to cut hair. There are also Beauty Schools that are training students and you can get a pretty cheap cut there.

*If you color treat your hair consider doing it at home if you are comfortable with that techinique. Also, I've recently learned that you do not need to buy super expensive shampoo and conditioner to keep your hair soft and silky after treating it. What you need is a good moisture cream for styling it after. Avoid using heated tools which can dry hair and create split ends. Try a natural hairstyle, braids or headbands.

*Make-up is pretty much all the same. Find one that doesn't irritate your skin or dry it. Drug store products for mascara and lipsticks are fine. But find a good quality fondation. Basic make up products are: eyeliner, mascara, a few lipsticks, blush, bronzer, foundation, concealer, and face cream.

Here are a few pictures of day and night make up.

The Blazer Trend

The Life Of A Fashion Queen Series:
Series #1

This is the first post of the series of The Life Of A Fashion Queen and we'll start off with one of my ultimate favorite trends! Blazers are so versatile and chic, not only can they be worn in the fall but also any other season! For spring and summer and light cotten or linen blazer is perfect for those sunny days just to tie the whole outfit together. In the fall and winter a thicker jacket with darker or brighter colors. If you've been watching the online stores change every few months you've also noticed blazers always stay on top. But there are different styles for those of us who like longer, shorter, slimmer or looser jackets.

With the different styles of blazers sometimes it's hard to match your outfit up. As a Fashionista we strive to look put together so here are a few tips on what you'll want to look for and how you can pair your blazer up.

The BoyFriend Blazer

An oversize, slouchy jacket that can easily be pair over a simple top and a pair of shorts like in the picture to the left. This is my favorite way to pair this blazer since I like to show off my figure and this blazer is just a bit shapeless.

If you're more into wearing over a nice spring dress then that works perfectly well too!
In the fall/winter when it's cold outside you can pair this blazer over a long pants jumpsuit and add a statement necklace or a scarf for color and sparkle.

Check out a few more outfits.

<-Love this color

Even Gaga can Rock a blazer!       -->

The Slim Fit Blazer

This blazer gives you shape in all the right places. It's one of my favorites since I am very petite and strive to not look so bulky with baggy clothes. This blazer looks the best in my opinion. It's feminine, slimming, and classy.

To pull it off you can pretty much through it over any outfit but I would pair it with looser tops, dresses or jumpsuits that don't really show off your form so you can cinch up your waist and show off the hourglass figure. Whether you're going to work, out on the town or catching a movie a jacket like this can make you the envy of others. It brings confidence to yourself when you feel like a million bucks and yet you only spent at most $40 on a good quality blazer. More on the budget after.

Reds, oranges, and bright colors are in this fall season!

The Cropped Blazer

A new version of the original blazer is the cropped version. Her Kim Kardasian is stunning in her neutral outfit with a shiny silver cropped blazer that completes her outfit. She paired it with a plain white tee, black skinny jeans, knee high boots, a black Hermes back, and black and white scarf.

But pairing a cropped blazer with skinnys and a tee isn't the only way to rock this look.

*Again you can pair it with a loose or fitted dress-either long or short.

*If you'd like a blouse and skirt.

*Another possible option is a tank and trousers.

*My favorite is pairing it with a tucked in button up and printed shorts.

*Another favorite is pairing a blazer with a bodysuit! The bodysuit is nice and snug so the arms of the blazer don't feel tight at all!

Fashionista on a BUDGET!
Sometimes we ask ourselves if we can trully cut back from the goods in the market. Many of you will say no way! It's hard to go into a store see everything you like and just walk back out because the prices are just too high! But I'm gonna tell you a few tips. We all try to look for sales, but that doesn't always work. So we have to find other ways to get what we want.

Here are a few tips:

*Look for sales: It's the first one and the most obvious one but it's also the truest. If we have a budget but there are a few items we're looking for we have to look at the sales and choose the best one.

*Make a list of your needs: Whenever we go shopping we might get overwhelmed, but the key to staying on track is making a list of your needs. Look through your closet before you go shopping and see what can stay and what has to go. Keep the list short, specific and to the point. We don't want to many options just so we can't decide what to buy and get frustrated.

*Trends and Staples: When buying a trend don't go for the most expensive option the trend will be gone in just a few weeks. When buying a staple buy the item of good quality.

*Budget of the Month: When you set your desired budget do NOT go over no matter what. Be frugal with your money and don't spend on a whim. Keep the budget the whole month and you'll see that you will get use to not going overboard.

*If you're not 100% happy don't buy or just return it! There's no point in buying something just because it's a beautiful piece. Buy things you fall in love with because those are the items that won't get stuck in the back of the closet for the next 5 years.

*Take a partner in crime: Being by yourself shopping is lonely and can discourage any savvy shopper. So bring your friend, sister, spouse or mom. Make sure they are there for you and tell you the truth.

Hope This article has helped a few other fashionistas striving to be as fashionable as they can be! here are my favorite shops that are selling blazers or might be in the future! Cheap, good quality, and fashionable.

Stacking Bangles

Hello Ladies! I've seen so many photos these past few months of girls with stacked bangles up both their arms and them pulling it off perfectly! We sit here and wonder, "how do they do that!?" And I wonder the same thing too. But really it's all about a keen eye for detail and knowing when it's too much!

Here's some tips to know how to stack different bangle sets!

*Same color different textures. Some bangles come with same colored bracelets but have different textures, widths and shades.
*Bangle set of 6. Most bangles come in sets of 6 or 8 bracelets and usually have a variety of bracelets those can get you started. Buy a few sets.
    * Add statement piace. There can be one or two thick bracelets or pattern bracelets in you stacks. Leather, animal print or floral print are a few patterns that can make your stacks stand out!

Here are a few pictures for a better idea! Enjoy! Leave a comment with more suggestions! Let me know if I was helpful? :D
