OOTD: Rule #1. Is That You've Got To Have Fun

Hello Lovely readers! Hope you guys are having a fabulous week! Wanted to show you girls what I wore last week. It's a really simple outfit: a bright colored blouse, jean jacket, black pants and turquoise colored shoes to match my blouse. I love this outfit so much! It's a different way to wear a blouse, a fun casual way! I also left my hair really curly and pinned it to one side.
I decided to wear some simple makeup to not over power my outfit.

What I wore:
Blouse: Forever 21
Jacket: Love Culture
Jeans: Abbey Dawn
Shoes: Nordstrom
Earrings: Macys
Nails: Splash of Grenadine by Essie

American Idol Meet Up

Hello Lovely readers! Just another typical day at school with a mini concert! Yes, there was a little performance set up in the courtyard of my school with Bo Bice playing in the middle of it. If you don't remember he performed on American Idol on the fourth season, 2005. He also placed 2nd to Carrie Underwood! Incredible! It has been seven years and I still remember!!
Since the concert was small I was able to get his autograph and few pictures!! How awesome is that!
This is probably one of the only reasons I like school, they always have something going on.

Oh and I guess you're gonna see a preview of my outfit now too... lol

NOTW and Extras...

Hello Lovely readers!!! I am going to start posting my NOTW (Nails of the Week) since I usually change it up every week. I hate when my nails get chipped so I like to take the time and do them. This week they are this gorgeous purple color which is Play Date by Essie. And now that I've shown you, I think I will reveal to you guys that Lavender is my new favorite color and color of the year!! I always liked purple but I have an obsession with lavender at the moment. Soo hopefully I can get a few new things with that color scheme!!

On a side note, I also happen to love mint and it was my favorite color for 2012 and will probably continue to appear in 2013. I picked up this gorgeous floral scarf yesterday as it was on sale in Zara for only 10 bucks!! The flower print is soo pretty and the colors are perfect for upcoming spring time!
And now I will like to let you know that my blog has an Instagram!! I was never sure if I would be able to keep up with it but last night I said to myself, "why not!"
So if you'd like to follow me, my username is:

Book Review: The Great Gatsby

The Great Gatsby
By F. Scott Fitzgerald

Hello Lovely readers! I'm here with another book review because well I finished another one! And I love to voice my opinion so here we go.
If you love the 1920's and the luxurious life of the elite in New York then think about reading this book. What attracted me to it was not only that it was set in the 20's but also that it took place in NY or really West Egg (Long Island).  It was also written by Fitzgerald and is a major classic!
(It just so happens to be a movie as well and they are making a remake this year!)
So on to the review!
I believe the book was well written and entertaining. The characters aren't that relatable but still you feel empathy for them. I immediately fell in love with Gatsby and his story was the one I absolutely loved the most! I wasn't sure if it was because he came from rags to riches and lived life as one big party or because he held onto the love he felt for a girl five years ago, never letting it go. Either way, Gatsby is my favorite character in the book!
The description is incredible, Fitzgerald actually makes you feel as if you are there and living it!
It is a super quick read, only 180 pages, and the writing style is not difficult to understand at all. In fact, it was quite easy! I admit there are some boring parts and things that just didn't make the story as great as I thought it would be. But I will put it all aside and take it for what it is.

Well, another book to add to my collection!

What will I be reading next?

Inspiration Of The Day: Cara Delevingne

Hello Lovely Readers! So Cara Delevingne has been getting a lot of attention these past few months! She is a British fashion model, age 20, with gorgeous green eyes and slender legs that go on for miles!
She's known for her thick brows and her serious pout. She also almost always pulls off this vampy eyeshadow seen on Bryony's Youtube Channel here
She has been an inspiration because of her "I don't care what you think" look and her fashion sense!
I usually don't care for super-models but something about Cara is different. She makes the strangest faces and is hilarious! She doesn't care if she looks "ugly" because she made a face she's just having fun!! We should all take notes and loosen our loins because, like my new motto is,
Life is too short

OOTD: Jail Birds

Hello Lovely readers! I know you guys have seen this outfit already in my video post HERE but I had to show actual pictures of it. If you've seen the Kiss Me video by One Direction then you know why I am obsessed with this shirt and outfit for that matter. In the jail scene with all the boys they are wearing something similar with a black jacket on top. Soo this is pretty awesome!!! (since I bought the shirt before it even came out!) I decided to add some color with my belt and shoes to break up all the blackness in this outfit. Stripes are so classy and easy to style! I absolutely love it!

What I am Wearing:
Top: Forever 21
Bottom: Abbey Dawn
Shoes: Forever 21
Earrings: Macys
Belt: H&M
Lipstick: Twig

The New Year 2013

The New Year is here and with it new goals not only for my life but for the blog! You guys have seen what I have accomplished in the past year. This year I want to step it up a notch. This year is a special year for so many reasons! We have survived this "world ends on Dec 21" drama and we have passed through so much throughout the year (Hurricane Sandy, Batman shooting, hospital shooting, Newport shooting). So we should celebrate! It is also my last year as a teen! (I'm turning 19 in February!) and I seriously want to make this year memorable! So here are my plans for the blog:

Blog Goals:

1. Publish 250 posts this year!

2. Have more giveaways

3. Improve Outfit pictures!

Life Goals:

1. Get Published: I finished writing the second draft of my book back in Dec. 2012 and my ultimate goal is to have it published this year.

2. Survive my first year in College!

3. Take advantage of every oppurtunity

4. Be Happy

I encourage everyone to set themselves goals and make it a special point to see them through!
Good luck!

Book Review: Perks of being a Wallflower

Alright everyone, if you're sensitive or overly in love with this book please feel free to disagree. Everyone has their own opinion or else the world would be a boring place.
With that being said.. Hello Lovely Readers! Hope you guys are having a fabulous week. I start my second semester of college and feel like sharing a book that has a lot of hype around it. Now I know my opinion isn't law but this is my blog and I'm not gonna lie about anything.
So let's get right into this!

Perks of being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky

Probably the most overhyped book I have ever heard of, after Twilight, Hunger Games, and Pretty Little Liars. For the amount of attention the movie got and the "good" reviews I was hearing about the book I expected so much out of it. I want to let you guys know that it really is just another book to me.
The characters were some what relatable and the events that happen are def relatable. But overall, I was not transformed after reading the book and that is the sole purpose of a book, to me, to transform you.
The book is set in a diary form with the protagonist, Charlie, as its writer. He is actually writing to someone, who we never meet, that he knows and heard of. I think that the ending was kind of unexpected and it leaves you hanging. I didn't understand it at all and I wish the author had given us more hints or details about certian events.
However, since I have yet to see the movie (which I think is what people truly went crazy about) I cannot close this chapter on my opinion of Perks just yet. Movies have a way of conveying an emotion and a message. Visuals are sometimes greater than books. (Blasphemy as a writer, I know lol)
I also think that I am highly influenced by the idea that a book is suppose to be magical. As if the world you are reading about wasn't just a normal world. I believe books are suppose to be passages to a different time and place. It's the only way to feel alive and differentiate with "real life".
(Same goes for movies)
So that is why I was a bit upset when nothing extraordinary happened in Perks, and maybe I'm just wrong and I'm not seeing the big picture.

What are your opinions?

But I admit, It was still a great book.

Dream. Believe. Achieve.

Hello lovely readers! So if you saw my last haul video then you'll remember I showed this atheletic tank. It is one of my favorite pieces because it has such a positive message and it's really edgy to me. I absolutely love what it says and how it fits. It's also super soft so I seriously cant complain at all hehe.
So this is just a little preview of one of my outfits for the school week. You guys will see the video soon! (OOTW video coming this friday!)

Les Misérables

Hello lovely readers! So as you can tell by the title I will be talking to you guys about the amazing movie: Les Misérables.
This is not a review, it is a glorification of the movie.
I have to tell you that I saw the original movie about four years ago. It wasn't a musical but still a wonderful movie based on the novel that goes by the same name and written by Victor Hugo.
The musical has made it into my top classical movies list in the musical genre.
Hugh Jackman, Anne Hathaway, Amanda Seyfried, and Russell Crowe were outstanding! They played their characters to the T. The singing was superb and touched my heart completely.
I will be buying the movie and soundtrack!
I have to admit that the other actors such as Eddie Redmayne, Helena Bonham Carter, and Samantha Barks were just as amazing!! Absolutely loved the movie and every scene!
I love how there were some moments that were hopeful, like the last song that is sung in the movie. The movie ends in a good note, which leaves you with that hopefullness. Not all is lost.
If you have yet to see the movie get off the computer and watch it at this very moment! If you already saw it, go watch it again!! It is worth watching.
I also decided to show you guys my outfit. Ever since I got back from NY I have noticed the humidity and the heat is greater. Maybe because I was in a freezing cold place for ten days lol. None the less, all I want to wear is tee shirts. So I chose this super comfy shirt with a coold print on it, light wash jeans and sandals. Really simple and chic :)
What I Wore:
Top: Zara
Bottom: Levis
Shoes: Sam Edelman
Earrings: Mom's
Lips: Twig

Found this at the movies!!! Almost died from how amazing this movie will be!
Not to mention Leonardo Dicaprio!!

New York City Haul

Hello lovely readers! I have a new video for you guys (though I'm super late as usual lol). This is my NYC Haul, haven't done one in a while so might as well. I went shopping all around NY and though I mostly got gifts for my friends I did manage to score a few pieces for myself.
And when I returned, I happened to pass by F21 again and got two additional pieces for myself.
These are perfect the up coming months in school. The weather isn't that cold and I'm really a casual kind of gal when it comes to school. So I hope you like what I got and feel inspired!
Everything was purchasef at F21!

My best friend bought me this super cute necklace! loveee it!

OOTD: I Will Keep Following The Sirens

Hello Lovely readers! I hope you guys are having a wonderful winter break! School is finally out and I wanted to start of the week with this outfit post! Omg, I seriously love this chic outfit! I opted for my cut-out shoulder blouse and paired it with some black jeans and Steve Madden wedges. They are adorable! I also decided to just wear gold pyramid earings and a few rings (that aren't in the photos) since I buttoned up the blouse all the way.
So I tried out a 4 strand braid! How do you guys like it? It is super easy! Would you like to see a tutorial? I'm really into doing braids now because it gets my hair out of the way in such a cute style!
For makeup I went for my Vampy Look but this time with Media by Mac. It goes perfect because the colors in my outfit are neutral. I hope you guys like it and I will talk to you guys soon! :)

What I wore:
Blouse: Forever 21
Jeans: Abbey Dawn Kohls
Shoes: Steve Madden
Lips: Media by MAC
Earrings: Macys
Nails: Bahama: Mama by Essie
