Back To School Series: Clothing Haul!

Okay guys! I have to admit I have a completely different mentality then the last time I was in a classroom. No duh, it's been 4 years!! My style has changed and I have grown up. Besides this is college we're talking about! I will admit that I might not ever wear wedges or heels, (I have classes for two days all day!) I'm not going to suffer while I can wear really cute flats! So here is my clothing haul for school clothes, shoes, and accessories! Wahoo! Are you as excited as I am??

Enjoy!

Inspiration: Home Edition

I love looking at beautiful homes. It inspires me so much and these few pictures have driven me mad!
I absolutely love the shelves, the bookcase made to look like a police box, the shoe shelf (I adore that!!) the pillow with the inspiring quote, and the black and white living room with a storm trooper painting. It doesn't look too childish and thats why I love it!

The Life Of A Fashion Queen: My Grad Bash To Do List!

(Entry written on August 9,2012)

Oh my gosh! Another Diary Entry! I made the last one such a long time ago and for some reason it got deleted! So upset! I know pretty silly but I wanted you guys to see what I've been up to!! I'm literally 2 weeks away from the party and so much has been done and changed!
Now I can reveal my secrets to you!

Okay guys, I love having themes so I had a few ideas that I was balancing out. In the end I decided to have a Vintage Circus themed party era 1920. (I found out that's pretty much when circus' died out but the movie "Water for Elephants" inspired me so much and it was set in the 1920's) It was such a fun and crazy idea! Originally my brother in law was going to print out my invites but I eventually ordered custom made invites from Zazzle
These weren't exactly what I wanted but everyone loved them and I loved them too!

Now I just want to let you guys know that I am on a budget so there have been things I have wanted to get that are just impossible! But I will make do with what I got. I also purchased some things with money I had saved up so I could use my budget party money on other things!

The DJ is very important to me, without the party would be a bust. My friend Dj'd for me and it wasn't such a big expense! Thank go and he is very good! I asked him to play the circus theme music!

Another thing that I love and would never sacrifice is the decorations! I had so many ideas coming into this theme but in the end I'm going to just have simple but very nice decor. By this I mean, instead of having a billion different ideas I'm going to consentrate on one specific idea and build around it. This is what I'm gonna do: First have the open dance floor, have vintage circus posters hanging on the walls, have candles on the shelves I have and confetti. I'm also going to have lots of red and white balloons to have a tent kind of feel to the room. I also have my porch area where there will be red and white streamers, stringed lights, balloons, tables with red table cloths, the food and drinks outside and chairs. I also have a section of sweets and snacks. I ordered these amazing vintage popcorn boxes from Carnival Depot. They arrived so quickly in just 2 days and none were ruined!! They are perfect for the feel! So I will have popcorn boxes and popcorn. I also made these crazy glitter jars that I'm filling up with candy from BJs. And I am ordering pre made cotton candy that is fresh from Papa John's Peanuts
Once I recieve it I will let you know if it's any good!
For the cake I want it to be simple, just red and white stripes would be nice no idea where to get it yet!

Ideas for decoration: Red and white fabric hanging from ceiling and going off to the sides to look like circus tent (streamers can be used too), have circus balls (the ones with red or blue stars on them), have a popcorn machine, cotton candy machine, hotdog machine, sno cone machine, have circus posters, have lots of lights, candles, vases with candies, have animal figurines, striped table cloth, or red table cloth. Have red and white balloons or multicolored depending on your theme.
Places to buy decor: Windy City Novelties, Amazon, Oriental Trading, Dollar Tree, Party City, BJs, Michaels, Carnival Depot are a few.

Costumes is another thing I spent some cash on, but it didn't come from the budget. I'm going as the ringleader and I hope you guys like my outfit and make up! I bought my hats (bought a few for decor will see in pictures and video soon!) at Windy City Novelties and Amazon
The windy city top hats are super tall and the Amazon top hat was normal and not very tall at all. I also bought a cane from amazon super fun!
Ideas for costumes: Ring leader, lion, lion tamer, snake charmer, trapeze artist, tight rope walker, acrobat, contortionist, fire breather, clown, mime, elephant, horse, bear, magician, knife thrower, strong man, strong woman, bearded lady, tattoo girl/man.
(my party is a "costume is encouraged" affair)

PS: I've noticed that not many people have posted anything about doing an adult/teen circus party so that's why I'm doing it! I've done so much research and looked through so many posts but end up with baby showers or children parties. I want there to be a post about how to have a circus party and ideas, pictures and tips that will help these creative teens and adults! Hope you like it! And I will be posting the next diary entry probably a day before the party (I'll be setting up) and the day of (my makeup, hair and costume. And the day after ( I will review all the products I have bought and the food and the party itself.) so about three posts to go! Expect videos and pictures!

Love Culture: Review

For those of you who are new to the store "Love Culture" this is a post for you! Many have said that it is a cross from Forever 21 and H&M.... I would have to disagree. Here's why:
I had never walked into a Love Culture store until last week and again a few days ago. It was huge! and at first I thought I found another awesome store to buy cute affordable pieces! But I looked everywhere trying to find that special something that I could just fall in love with. I was so disappointed when it wasn't there. Of course I thought to myself that I will just return again when I had more time. So I did and this time I checked out their jewelry. I have to admit very bold jewelry but the materials used look so cheap. I was again disappointed. The metal was just too shiney for my taste. The bags looked very sturdy though and those ranged from $25-$35.
I also saw super cute scarfs which are $8.
I continued on my search and saw really nice blouses and some cute jean jackets.
In my head I thought the prices would be more towards F21. In reality it was around $15-$30 for a shirt. Am I being too cheap or have I gotten use to F21 and their prices?
I have no idea but in my opinion I think Forever 21 is completely different and in some ways better.

Have you guys been to Love Culture?? What do you think?
Any new store you recommend to me?

Day 12 Mint OOTD

One of my casual midi crop tops I love to throw on and just chill. I've been on the search for printed tops like these for school since I don't want to ruin all the blouses I have. I get a little paranoid usuing nice cloths for school because you never know what might happen! Idk maybe I'm weird like that.
But anyways I was just chilling with my friends watching tv and having a good laugh. I have some jeggings and sandals and super simple makeup. Hope you guys like it!

Animal Safari OOTD

One of my favorite shirts (really borrowed from my sister) it's just adorable because of all the little safari animals on it!! It's a really nice peach color too and I paired it with a vibrant green pair of shorts and brown gladiators. It was such a hot, mugy, humid day that I had to have my hair tied. I hope you guys like this outfit and video! BTW Do you think it would be better if I have an outfits of the week video every week instead of one video every day?? Just a thought I'm gonna brainstorm about.

Shirt, Shoes, Shorts: Forever 21
Earings: Macys

PS: I will be doing a few new series like a Back To School type and another one graduation party related but that's still under wraps! Let me know if you guys are interested!

Life Of A Fashion Queen Series: Party Planning

You guys are now entering the super secret party planning world of the Fashion Queen herself!
I live to have epic, amazingly fantasic and unforgetable parties! Every single party, with out fail, that I have planned has come out great and unforgetable!! I planned my sister's graduation party last year and no other party could compare! (totally not being biased as I'm basing my self off of known facts!)
This is sorta off my general topic of 'fashion' but in a way it does have something to do with it. I mean what kind of Queen can't throw a fabulous party!? Let's get started with my fool proof party planning!

Let's start with theme! I adore this step in party planning just because it's so much fun to write down a bunch of creative ideas for your theme!! Most parties I go to don't have a theme. Many people think it will get expensive and too crazy. On the contrary! You will be totally focused there for it will save time while you look for decorations, outfit for the night, music, food and party favors if you like!
List all your possibe ideas and see which one is most attractive! From there we can move on to decorations!

Decor is my ultimate favorite step because I belive decorations can make your party or break it! Now that we have a theme settled we can start our research on the decorations. Search up every possible ajective that discribes your theme. Now think outside the box! Anyone can throw a glow in the dark party and just buy glowsticks. But what fun is that? EX: Glowing ice cubes, glowing cups, plates, straws, how about black lights and everyone wears white? You see now we're starting to have a cool party! Just remember stick to your theme and get creative with it!

Food is another thing that is super important. If you're having a grad party I usually stick to finger foods: chicken fingers, mini corn dogs, chips and dip, mozzerella sticks, the list goes on really! The party usually starts after the ideal dinner time anyways.
But if you're having a full on four course meal party then start planning a menu for the dinner.
Don't forget desserts! I like having simple desserts like cupcakes and brownies instead of a huge cake just cause it's faster to pass out and easier to make a hundred instead of spending loads of cash trying to get a cake that feeds a hundred or more people!
Remember people get hungry but if the music is too good they wont care to eat as much!

Which brings me to music, the life of the party really and come on you know its true! Have you ever been to a party where the DJ plays such old songs that they don't even move you to dance! I know there are classic songs but I hate listening to the same repeated tunes. That's why sometimes it's best to make your own playlist for the DJ and get a DJ that knows his music. It will be worth that extra cash!

These are some of my tips that I have learned through out my many years of party planning! I hope they were some what helpful and entertaining! lol If you'd like I'll post my party plans for my grad bash! Let me know in the comments below! Thanks for reading I love you all!

Day 5: Wedding Ready OOTD

Today I attended a very very special wedding of a close friend of mine! It was very emotional knowing the couple had been dating for the past 3 years and I was worried I would cry and smear my make up. But my makeup stayed in take through out the entire day and night and the heat! I decided to go with curled hair and leave it down, originally I wanted an updo or a braided updo but changed my mind last minute. I loved it anyways and it went perfectly with my boho summer dress. Though the dress was very summer it was still formal because of the material and the style. I chose a thick pearl necklace to pump up the elegance and some pearl earings to match. I opted for a brown smokey eye and lots of mascara. I also had a pinkish nude lip on. I then wore nude steve madden pumps.
I hope you guys like my video!! I was dead tired but did it anyways cause I have that much of a commitment to you guys!! Love you!

Day 4: Beatlemania

Day 4 of my August challenge! I got a little worried today thinking that I might not be able to go any where and there for not have a video! But I ended up running a whole bunch of errands and went to the mall. I can't believe it's tax free weekend already! Unfortunetly I didn't find any clothes :/ I'm a sucker for clothes, but I was able to buy a few things from MAC. I got a whiter concealer that I've had my eye on for a few months and I got a new lipstick to try.
My outfit was super casual just cause I wasn't going anywherw fancy and it was another hot day. So I opted for a baseball style Beatles shirt, jeggings and a bright colored gladiator. I also wore some pyramid studs and pulled my hair back. Hope you guys like it!

Day 3: I've Got The Royal Blues

So you've seen this deep blue skirt before but since my challenge involves wearing ALL my pieces I thought I'd give you another way I wear this skirt! I love the color and I also love stripes! It's one of my main pattern styles. So I paired this maxi with a striped blouse and black gladiators. I added a spiked necklace for a little more dressed up feel. My makeup is super simple since I was in such a rush and had to leave my house quickly. Hope you guys like it! let me know if you like my different styles. I guess it's what I'm feeling at the moment.

Do you guys have one particular style? Or do you like to change it up like me?

Day 2: Cowboys and Rockstars

lol I have to just laugh at myself! I'm such a cheeseball most of the time hehe. Well here is my Day 2 outfit for the August 30 day challenge! Hope you guys like it. I went for a casual yet fun outfit since I was running a few errand before school starts in a month. I have so much to do this last month before school!! You guys will see a lot of different outfits and more interesting post soon! I have some special party related posts coming up!
Anyways, I get super inspired with my clothes, I chose this fringe top because I wasn't up for a lot of jewelry and its very hot outside so I didn't want to layer on top. I chose these dark wash jeans, even though these go perfectly with colored shorts or regular shorts but I wanted to show you something different and I also added some color with my shoes!
Shirt: Marshalls
Jeans: Pac Sun

Earrings: Macys

August 30 Day Challenge

I have decided to do a 30 day challenge to pump up my creativity and inspiration! I saw this youtuber one time who did a one hundred day challenge of outfit of the days. I found it to be such a good idea and I wanted to try it out! So now I'm gonna try it out and hopefully it will inspire you guys too! The whole point of this challenge is to find new ways and new outfits in my wardrobe. It's an interesting way to use the clothes I already have! Hope you guys like it! This is Day 1 and my first outfit.
I went with a classy yet casual spin to the popular pastel blazer. It's super hot but at the same time inside buildings it gets chilly. So I paired my floral cami with some jean shorts and a peach pastel blazer. I also wore vintage earings and ring, and for shoes I wore brown gladiators! Hope you like it!

Blazer, Cami, Shoes: Forever 21
Earings and ring: Vintage
Shorts: Marc by Marc Jacobs

Everyday will be a new outfit post with a video. Im so sorry if I don't take pictures!
