OOTD: August 16, 2013

Hello my beauts it's been a very, very long week for me and I'm so happy it's Fashion Film Friday!
School started this week as you all know. I'm taking four classes at the moment. Let me tell you, they are not easy! I know its only the first week but I'm feeling a little dizzy from everything. I have class every single day (which is a new thing for me especially since I've been on vacation for the past 3 and a half months!). I'm taking Creative Writing, French, College Algebra, and later on in the semester I'll start Humanities. Some of these courses aren't too bad. Creative writing is obviously my favorite (for now since I have no idea what else my prof will make us do). French is one of the harder ones because it's a new language but I love french so I'm trying my best. Math on the other hand is hard and I don't like numbers so it's not interesting at all. But it's something I have to do so I'll be tredding on. Hopefully I get into the swing of things soon. I know many started last week but I just wanna say, congrats! We did it! We made it through the first week. Time to celebrate with a short video on the outfit I wore for my BTS: What's in my school bag video.

What I Wore:
Top: Nordstrom Rack
Jeans: Levis
Shoes: Nordstrom Rack

VMA Fashion 2013

Tonight was the long awaited award show (and personally one of my favorites) the MTV Video Music Awards! This is where all the hottest singers get together under one roof to... Blow. Your. Mind!
But before we get into the award winners lets talk about the red carpet appearances.
As in every award show there is a graceful red carpet walkway that the celebrities can walk on and are photographed by hundreds of hungry photographers.
Here are my favorite looks of the night and some not so favorite.

The Ladies:

Lady Gaga:
The one and only Gaga and she was flawless of course. Now I have to admit she looked very vampy tonight with long black hair and a sexy black gown. But something about it seemed much more toned down than usual. Is it because she recently got hip surgery and has been reovering for the past few months? Either way I love her new style. Looking gorgeous as ever Gaga!

Ariana Grande:
She stayed true to herself and her style in this
adorable floral, silk dress with puffy sleeves was perfect for her style.
I bet you anything her dress was made by one of her favorite designer, Kenley Collins.
She paired it with these super chic pointy white heels that were of an appropriate hieght for a young girl like her. I love her as a fashion inspiration for all the younger girls as she is very sweet and girly.
Her hair was left in her signature half-up/half-down style. Pretty, makeup with a cat eye and nude lips.
Competely adore this one!

Ellie Goulding:
Wow, she is so gorgeous and I love her music! Her dress was so amazing!! It was a pale, nudish color that was covered from head-to-toe with spikes!!! It was crazy cool and somehow so chic! It was not over-bearing at all or too over the top. It was a perfect combination of edginess and chic.

Nervo:
This is the first time I ever hear about these two gorgeous DJs. OMG! Their dresses were my all time favorite as they walked down the red carpet and possed for the paps. Wow. That's the word that describes it. Both wore black gowns with edgy twists to it. Incredible style. I will be keeping my eye on these girls!

Selena Gomez:
In love with the subtle sexiness of her dark, navy blue longlseeve gown. It was embellished by beads down her torso and she wore a lace corset underneath. Love the sleek, straight hair and minimal makeup. Looking good flying solo girl!

Rita Ora:
Wow she was a drop dead beauty in her glitzy glam, sparkling gown with a sexy slit on the side. Her style as grown in the last year or so and she continues to evolve and become even more beautiful every time I see her on the big screen. She even wore her signature red lips!

The Gents:

Robin Thicke:
Looking quite dapper in his black suit with leather lapels. Not to mention his beautiful wife beside him, Paula Patton. I'm not a huge fan of his song, Blurred Lines, and I was disgusted by his performance with Miley. But because this is just about fashion I have to admit he's got style. Both of them do.

One Direction:
There aren't any words to describe how amazing these five boys are. Each one has their own impeccable style and yet they all retain a perfect, cohesiveness. They won "Best Song of the Summer" for Best Song Ever (which was a new category btw)! They totally deserve it and everyone that booed was jealous! BSE really is the perfect song for summer! Let's all take a moment to praise their good looks and well... just let the photo speak for its self.

30 Seconds To Mars:
This three men are my favorite men in the whole entire world! Not only do I support there music (for years I have adored them) but I love their style. Now, I'm not a big fan of Jared's long locks but I know he likes to change his look alot so I don't expect it to stay too long.
As for Shane, why must you always wear glasses!! I want to see your beautiful face!
Tomo, now you have cleaned up soooo nicely! I remember when you had that long hair. Now you're ultra sexy in the clean cut do and the scruffy beard. Keep it please!
Plus, they won Best Rock Video Award!! Congrats!!!

The Nots:

Becky G:
Sorry, but who is this cause I have no idea. I didn't really like the outfit for the VMA's red carpet. It's a little too casual for me. What do you guys think?

Katy Perry:
Wore a cheetah print, turtle neck, longsleeve dress embellished with gold butterflies enbellished on it?
And what is up with wearing these grills, no.

Miley Cyrus:
She's not one of my favorite singers but I can't get "We Can't Stop" out of my head. Plus her outfit was a little bit more toned down and less rocker chic than usual. Last time she was on my blog she was on the worst dressed list and unfortunetly she is on my worst dressed list again. Sorry Miles.  (Her performance didn't help either. There's a difference between being an artist and trash).

Austin Mahone:
What in the world was he thinking wearing all pleather/latex whatever the heck that was? It was a very Justin Beiber kind of performance which makes me very sad because I believe Austin had potential...
He first appeared very charming till he changed into his jumpsuit.

There are many many more celebrities that walked down the runway like Crystal Reed, Holland Roden, Shailene Woodley, Macklemore, Pharrel, Bruno Mars, and many many more!

NOTW: Butler Please

Hello beauts! It's #ManicureMonday and I have special nails to show you guys. You know why?
Because it's the first day of school and I'm back in college for the fall semester. I wanted to do a bright color that was still in the summer category. I have found that perfect color! This cobolt blue called Butler Please by Essie (my favorite brand of nail polish). It's ultra rich in color but unfortunetly it dries matte which is not to my liking. I added a coat of my favorite top coat, Seche Vite. If you guys haven't tried it you must go and buy it now! First time I ever heard about it was when Julia, from Misschievous, mentioned it in one of her really old videos. I absolutely love her and she's the one who got me into make-up.
Seche Vite might be a little bit on the expensive side but I highly recommend it as it does it's job much better than most top coats. But, there is a down side to Butler Please.... I ave noticed that it chips super easily. More than most nail polishes. Now, I don't know if this is just because my nails are long and are more prone to getting hit by things but this usually doesn't happen so I'm pretty upset about that. But, I can't complain, it lasted long enough for my first day.
For those of you going to school today good luck and have a great day and week!

Get these polishes here on Amazon! Plus, I believe this color is perfect with the
glitter polish Set in Stone by Essie

Wild Butterfly Boutique and MadisonLane7 Giveaway Winner

Hello my lovelies, I can't wait to share with you guys this exciting news! Madison from ItsMadisonLane collaborated with the amazing jewelry brand Wild Butterfly Boutique and hosted a giveaway about two weeks ago. Just my luck it is I who won the giveaway. I seriously can't believe I won and was able to choose the jewelry piece I wanted. If you check out their site you will see all their amazing pieces, which made it ten times more difficult to chose! But in the end I went with the piece I've been dying to have which was the J.Crew look a like bubble bib necklace in Cream in the style Curvy. Ugh it's gorgeous and perfect and I can't wait to wear it with almost all my outfits. I know almost everyone has this kind of necklace, but I don't care! I love it so much and I am soooo thankful to Madison and Wild Butterfly Boutique for doing this giveaway. Thank you!!!

It came in this super cute and classic white box.

Here's a picture of the necklace

And here's one with me wearing it. can't wait to post outfit pictures!

NOTW: Naughty Nautical

Hello my lovelies, hope everyone has started their Monday off right! And by that I mean: you better have gotten your nails done for #ManicureMonday! It's seriously a whole fiasco every Monday. I love going on my twitter feed and looking through all the photos my fellow #bbloggers and even non bbloggers have posted of their nails! Love it! This week I am going green and loving it! For a few weeks I have been eyeing this color in the stores until I finally bought it. Totally worth it. The color is gorgeous, bright, and so summer appropriate. It also has these tiny sparkles added to it which makes it special and unordinary. Unfortunately it is barely noticeable in the pictures. This is probably one of the last times I'll be doing bright colors like this. As you can tell this is a very dark teal-green which is transitioning well to fall. But I'm not quite done with my summer colors yet. I still have another week and I am not letting it go by without one last shot. Lets see what I come up with next week and stay tuned! There will probably be nail art ;)

#ManicureMonday : Sparkle and Shine

Hello my loves and welcome to a new week! I love starting off the week fresh with a gorgeous color on my nails. Two weeks ago in this post I showed you girls I was wearing Turquoise and Caicos by Essie. The following week I wanted to spice it up a bit and painted my ring finger with the SinfulColor brand nailpolish in Beverly Hills and my middle finger I used Essie's Set in Stone. I've been dying to try out new nail designs, combinations, and stickers for the past few weeks and decided to give myself a little creative liberty. I'm really sorry I didn't show you girls as soon as I posted my picture on instagram, but I had just done them on Monday and had already posted my want list which you can visit if you missed it.
I love the combination of a turquoise with a lavender color. Plus I think the glitter makes it super fun and glirly. What do you guys think? Do you like adding glitter ect to your nails?
Let me know in the comments below!

Lavender: Beverly Hills by SinfulColors

My tiger bracelet if from Forever 21!

here's a shot of my nails without any effects.

But for this week I decided to brighten up my nails even more with this gorgeous, borderline neon pink. The color on most of my nails is Lovie Dovie by the one and only, Essie! On my ring finger I used the color Bottle Service and again it is by Essie. (Can you see I have an obsession hehe).
I wanted something that would be a happy color for the end of summer and I believe these are perfect!
I haven't decided what I will do next but for now I'll enjoy my pinks.
BTW I've been growing my nails so I could shape them into almond style nails, can you tell?
It's difficult as I hate filing my nails every week but I hope it will be more noticeable at the end of the month or so. What kind of nail shape are you sporting?
Square, almond, stiletto, round, ect ect.
I hope you girls have a wonderful Monday!

Back to school: clothing haul

Hello my beautiful fashionistas! It's #FashionFilmFriday and I've got a long awaited video post for you guys. Schools right around the corner and I wanted to show you guys what I got for the new year. It's been such a hot summer that I have no doubt the weather will continue to be this hot throughout my Fall semester. So I opted to buy some cute, chiffon tanks in light colors.
But I was also in desperate need for some new skinny jeans as mine are more than five years old! Both of the skinny jeans I got are from Levi's because I find their brand to be a perfect fit for me! I also got a pair of Converse in their new vintage style. I hope you guys like my new video as I discuss some of my tips for the school year whether you're in middleschool, highschool, or college!
This is my first video in my Back To School Series!
Enjoy and let me know which item you like the best!

The Want List: August 2013 *Luxury edition*

Hello beautifuls! So it's that time of the month again to reveal my want list! My last want list was back in May but I was unable to find anything that was on my list. Circle skirts are still at the top of my list but I have yet to find any that fit properly. So for now I will keep looking.

But this want list will be a little bit different. I want to show you guys the beautiful,
expensive pieces of art that I am lusting over. True, it's very unreachable at the moment but what's the harm in looking at it? What are your favorite high end brands?
Which items have you had your eyes on?

1. Prada Saffiano Lux mini: I have loved Prada bags ever since I saw Confessions of a Shopaholic and wanted her cute orange briefcase. This one is the Saffiano Lux (which btw it took me forever to find out the name), which is super cute because it's a crossbody, the shape is square, and I absolutely love it!

2. Prada mini: I have no idea what this one is called. If any of you know please let me know in the comments below! But I love this one because of its round shape plus it's adorable since it's a mini!

3. Christian Louboutin Studded Pigalles in black: Ugh, these are gorgeous!
I can't get over how edgy and classy they look. These would be one of the first pairs I get (if ever possible). They are amazing! That is all!

Let me know what your luxury lust items are!
