Fall Lipstick Dupes!

Hello beautiful readers and welcome back to my blog! Wow, I just want to say I'm sorry for making you guys wait so long for my Wednesday Beauty post. It's been a very crazy few days (school, my nephew went into surgery, plus I had to upload and edit all the film I had which isn't easy). But everything is great now and I am back on track. Thankfully Wednesday hasn't past without my video post. I have a cool video today that I've been dying to do! It's my Fall Lipstick Dupes!! You guys know all about my favorite MAC lipsticks but I wanted to share their dupes! So I went out to Walgreens and found three perfect matches that not only look exactly like the three MAC lippies but they are perfect for the Fall (and cheaper!). To find out which lipsticks I'm talking about

Drugstore Essentials + Collab with Caroline of Carlijae.com

Hello lovelies and today I have a special collab post with the beautiful Caroline from CaliJae
About two weeks ago she asked for some topic ideas and I offered up some to help a fellow blogger out. Little did I know that she would then ask me to collab with her on a post! It was very exciting since I usually never do collabs (I'm a little paranoid due to bad experiences). But Caroline changed my mind. She is incredibly sweet and beautiful and her blog is amazing. So after reading my post please do go check her Drugstore Essentials out!
So this week I had a challenge to figure out my drugstore essentials and I was able to break it down into three categories: hair, make-up, and face.

Hair:
For some reason the drugstore always has better sales than publix. So this is where I get most of my hair products. I limited my hair products down to the three essentials:

Shampoo:
I know a lot of people say you should switch up your shampoo/conditioner every few months but I haven't found anything that works as good as this one. My number one shampoo is from Dove called Intensive Repair. I love this one because it helps my hair out since I use a lot of hot tools and I had dyed it a while back and I'm still trying to grow out those terrible ends. This leaves my hair feeling clean but not stripped of moisture. I don't use the conditioner for this though because my hair is very fine and I feel like conditioner makes my hair greasy faster. Once a week I will use a moisture mask from L'oreal to help out with dryness.

Dove Damage Therapy Intensive Repair Shampoo

Heat Protectant:
I've never used a heat protectant in my life (terrible I know!). So when I saw this I really wanted to try it. Now I never do my hair without it! It smells fresh and floral and it doesn't weigh your hair down when you spray it on. The nozzel is very uncomfortable to use, I have to admit. But it does it's job and leaves my hair shiny and smooth. I also have the keratin smooth heat protectant but have yet to try it.

TRESemme Heat Protectant

Dry Shampoo:
I swear by this item. Probably one of my holy grails. Like I said before, I have very fine hair so by the second day after my wash day my hair is already looking greasy and dirty. But, my dilemma is that you shouldn't wash your hair so often. So what do you do when you have a problem like that?? Whip out this baby and it will breathe life back into your hair in seconds. Now even though it does work it's obviously not going to replace washing your hair for an entire week. I only use this if it's the second or third day and I don't have time to wash and style my hair. The smell is very fresh and clean which is good because most of these smell like powder (not a fan).

TRESemme FreshStart Dry Shampoo

Make-up:
Probably my favorite section (like all of us haha!) I can't go to the drugstore and not pass by the beauty section at least five times. Here are my favorite, can't-live-without-you, products:

Mascara:
Another item I swear by is this particular mascara from maybelline. I've tried so many from different brands and this one is the one I continue to rebuy and reach for when I want a very soft yet dramatic look. I absolutely love the way this formula works. It also comes in waterproof and I occasionally will wear it (when I'm going to a concert or going to school all day) just so my lashes stay nice and curled all day. Trust me this stuff works! I think I've mentioned it in a few videos already hehe.

Maybelline Full N' Soft Mascara in Very Black

Bronzer:
One of my favorite bronzers from the drugstore. I've noticed that most bronzers/blushes have a slight if not flat out shimmer. I hate shimmer in bronzers. I feel like it's too dramatic and overpowering for my face. This particular bronzer does have a tiny bit of shimmer but overall it's unnoticeable. This bronzer comes in three shades but 03 is the darkest. I like to use it to liven up my pale face with just a few soft strokes up on my temples and cheek bones.

Milani bronzer XL All Over Glow 03

Concealer:
This concealer is perfection especially for me who has very dry undereyes. I would love to try the foundation of the same brand (Rimmel Match Perfection). Unfortunetly they don't sell this in my local drugstore so I have to make a special trip to repurchase!

Rimmel Match Perfection Concealer #125

Lipstick:
I'm completly obsessed with this color from Revlon, Honey Bare. Unfortunetly this is another produt that my local drugstore has ran out of. But I will be looking for this one online and I'm sure I will find it cheaper. This shade is perfect for everyday use and all year around. I love finding perfect nude shades that aren't too pink or too brown.

Revlon Honey Bare Lipstick

Face:
Okay, you might think "why face?" well because these aren't really make-up products but they're not random either. These are the products I like to use to keep my face clear, clean, and moisturized.

Make-up Wipes:
I recently started using these particular cleansing wipes to take off my makeup. I wish I had started before! The makeup comes off so easily and effortlessly. I can't believe it!! It doesn't irritate my face or dry it out at all. I do have to say that it leaves a certain residue once I'm done but nothing a little water can't remove.

Simple Cleansing Facial Wipes

Face Wash:
I love this face wash and have been using it for years! I absolutely love the tingling feeling that it leaves once you take it off. I don't know if it works or if it doesn't. I feel clean after I take it off so I'm guessing it does. It also doesn't irritate my skin which is a major plus.

Clean & Clear Deep Action Cream Cleanser

Exfoliating Scrub:
This is a new product I recently started using. I only use it every other day and mostly around my problamatic areas (checks, nose, chin). I have to say the first day my skin was not use to it at all and I got a million bumps (irritation I believe). But after a few hours it was better and the next day my skin had cleared up. It's been two weeks since I've started using it and I love it!! My dry patches are way better and now I feel like my skin has improved. I have yet to test my skin out with foundation but that will be the ultimate test! Then I will know if this product achieved the results I wanted or not.

Aveeno Smart Essentials Daily Detoxifying Scrub

Moisturizer:
This moisturizer has been a life saver. I'm not saying it's the best thing out there but for me it is the best thing. I love this one because it's cheap, it's light (in consistency), and it's oil-free! It doesn't  leave my face feeling like it's gonna fall off. I use this PM version because it is a bit thicker than the day time cream. Which the day time cream has SPF and I'm not a fan of SPF in a moisturizer.
So this one is the one I reach for when I need to moisturize my face after I cleanse and exfoliate.

Cerave Facial Moisturizing-Lotion PM

So there you have it the major drugstore essentials that I reach for everyday/week.
I hope you guys found it helpful and enlightening.
Now please go ahead and read Cali's post right here

GRWM: FUN. Concert Part 2

Hello again my beauties, it's Film Friday (and though technically it's Fashion Film Friday and I want to post Fashion related videos on Fridays, I'm making an exception). This video has been waiting to be uploaded for over a month already and I must not deny it any longer!! Today I will be showing you guys part 2 of my Get Ready With Me: FUN. Concert video. I did it in two parts because a) the video was too long for youtube and b) this video has nothing to do with make-up, hair, or fashion. Sorry!
This video is more about my experience at the concert, the merchandise I bought, and some clips from the actual concert (and by clips I mean my fav parts and songs *here is where I smile uncontrollably and giggle at the sight and sound of Nate Ruess.... no judging he's perfection*).
I know for many it wont be your cup of tea, but if you watch it it would make me very happy!
I just want to share this wonderful experience with you beautiful people.
So sit back, get some popcorn, and enjoy this quick video on my experience at the fun. concert.

Enjoy and let me know what you think!
don't forget to watch in HD!

Get Ready With Me: FUN. Concert Part 1

Hello lovelies, today I have a special post and by the title you can tell exactly what I'm going to talk about! So without further a do, let's get started. I went to the fun. concert a few weeks with my best friend, sister, and mom. It was general admission so we chose the best spot we could (which happened to be right behind the handicap area to the right side of the stage). Sure I would have preferred front and center but *shrugs* what can you do. Either way our spot was such a good spot! We had a full view of everything that was happening and no tall people in front (since I'm super short so no offense to anyone who is tall!). If you don't know who fun is here's a little background.

Fun. is made up of three band mates: Nate Ruess, Andrew Dost, and Jack Antonoff.
They all came from three different bands and joined forces to form one amazing, American indie pop band. They originated in New York and have been together since 2009 and have two albums out so far. I'm absolutely in love with Nate, and the fact that he was born in February (my month as well) makes him even more attractive. Ugh, plus his voice is just unbelievable. I adore every song on their most recent album, Some Nights.
Nate Ruess, the main singer for the band, was incredible. Everytime he would sing in front of our section my heart would swell a little more from the proximity. The fact that I could see his crystal clear green eyes was one of the highlights of my night!! (Yes I love him! I thought that was obvious haha!!)
Back to my post, I made two parts to my GRWM post because it was too long for just one video. (sorry!) So I hope you like this first part, it is about how I did my make-up, hair, and my outfit for the night. Next video will be up on Friday so stay tuned!!

Here is my outfits and my experience at the fun. concert.

Enjoy!

Inspiration Of The Day: Lorde

Hello beauties, I know it's #ManicureMonday but I don't have a nail post for you guys today. Not only because I have yet to do a new paint but I wanted to switch things up and talk about my new inspiration. I hope you guys enjoy and keep reading! :)

Born Ella Maria Lani Yelich-O'Connor in Auckland, New Zealand on November 7, 1996. But she is most commonly known by her stage name: Lorde.
She started writing her own songs with her guitar at around the ages of 13 and 14. But it wasn't till this year, at the age of 16, that her first single made it huge world wide. Royals by Lorde is an indie pop kind of sound and her album Pure Heroine was released September 27, 2013. She has quickly become a sensation world wide with her oddly beautiful features, mesmerizing blue eyes and her naturally curly hair. What a beautiful inspiration.
I absolutely love her make-up looks in all these photos!
I'm quickly becoming more and more inspired by her music and her exotic look. Would you girls like a make-up tutorial or hair tutorial on any of these looks? Let me know!!

Major Beauty Haul!

Hello my loves, it has been a long week and I just want to plop down and watch movies all weekend.
This semester of college has been super stressful. I am finishing up my core classes now and I left some of the hard ones for last, (bad idea). Anyway, I'm glad it's over and it's one more week closer to the end of the semester! Hooray!
Today I want to show you guys what goodies I have been stocking up on these past two months. So this is going to be a collective haul of all my beauty related items. I usually don't buy so much in such little time but I wanted to try a few new things for you girls and see if I could find new products that I will love! (Expect a lot of reviews from me very soon!)
Without further a do, I will leave you guys to watch my video right here and enjoy!
Let me know if you have bought or tried any of the products I mentin/show. I would love to know your opinion on it and if it works for you. :)

The Fashion Queen On YouTube!

Surprise!! I've got another little announcement to make today. Back in September I said I was going to stop posting videos on my channel as I was taking a sabatical for the month. Now it's October and you're probably wondering, "is she back yet? Where are the videos? Did she quit?"
Well, you'll be happy to know I am back and for good! I did not quit (that's for sure, I never will!)
but I did move to a new Youtube Channel with my actual name on the url. (I'm anal when it comes to my blog and I really wanted everything to have the same name.)
So now you will find me here at TheFashionQueen and this will be my new home for fashion and beauty videos. What really motivated me to make a new channel and start from scratch is that I now have a new camera. I've been waiting for so long for a better camera and I finally got one. I bought the Canon T3i in September and ever since I've been trying to learn as fast as I can every little button and see what is the best way I can film. I love filming and making videos, but I also want to make the best videos I possibly can. Here's my first video on the new channel talking more about my camera and what my channel will be about.
Enjoy!!

NOTW: Casino Royale

Good Morning Beautiful! It's Monday and I can't stress this enough: I do not like Mondays!
But life goes on and with it a fresh mani for a new week. Now, I promised you last week that it would be my last summer hue for the year and today I am bringing you a deep red/plum. (See! I'm not lying lol) This gorgeous mix between an oxblood shade and a purple is the product of OPI (yes! OPI is on my nails, odd I know because I'm not a big fan).
This one is called Casino Royale by OPI and I have to admit, it dried really fast! Usually I'm very cautious when I paint my nails a dark color as they always take forever and a day to dry. But this one was pretty quick! Surprise! Surprise! As for the longevity of the polish I will let you guys know next week. For now I've got photos for you girls to enjoy.

Almost forgot, when I went to the nail place I picked up a few colors and a base coat!! Finally got myself a much needed base coat. This particular one if from Essie and I also picked up this gorgeous sparkle red called Leading Lady. The opaque blue is called OPI Eurso Euro (very similar to the Essie Butler Please). I wanted to pick this one up since Butler Please chips so badly. Will let you guys know how well all of these work later.

Hope you guys had a wonderful weekend and wish you guys an exciting week ahead!

OOTD: Animal Crackers

Hello my very patient lovelies, I know I have been super awol for the past few weeks. I am so sorry about not being able to post videos in such a long time!! I am going through so many changes (not only here at The Fashion Queen but also in life in general) I hope you guys can bare with me just a little longer. I promise I will have really good content in the next few weeks to come.

Well, here I am with a super casual outfit but what makes this one different is my shoes! Omg, they are the focal point of the outfit. They are so cute and different and I love them so much! If you remember I posted about them in my Haul Post a few weeks (months?) back. I also wanted to spice up this look with my spiked jewelry and my deep lips. On my lips I'm wearing Captive which is one of my favorites. It's such a beautiful color to transition into fall. Also, it's not super bright and attention-seeking as a true red or a deep plum. The perfect in-between shade for a day look.

Tell me what you do to transition from summer to fall!!

NOTW: Summer Time Memories

Hello my lovelies! So I've been bad and havent been following the fall trend of dark nails. I took a little break of it for a week and decided to go with a very happy and bright color. It's still in the red family so I feel like I can kind of get away with it, right? Well, don't worry I'll be back to show you girls my fall polishes by next week! I'm thinking of buying one with lots of sparkles!

This color is called Watermelon by Essie, which is a pinkish-reddish kind of shade. Love the color which reminds me of watermelons and summer time. Oh how I long for it to be summer again!
What were your fondest summer memories?? Mine was probably our family trip to the beach where we stayed at a hotel and enjoyed the fourth of July weekend.

My Compulsive Jewelry Haul

Hello beauties, so today I wanted to show you guys my mini jewelry haul. I admit, when there's a sale I kinda go crazy and want to buy everything... in every single color. Where is the style consultant when you need her!! Any ways, I bought three more bubble necklaces from Wild Butterfly Boutique since they were having a major sale (still going on I believe). So I bought a mint one, black one, and a turquoise one! Yes, three of the same necklaces. What in the world was I thinking?? Well, I must have been crazy to buy so much. But the past is the past and we'll have to make do. Either way the colors are gorgeous. Here I've style the mint necklace (which is my favorite) and the black necklace.
It definitely creates a statement to other wise plain ensembles which I love since I'm a pretty simple girl but love having that extra statement in my outfit. Tell me which one you prefer!!

To see the white bubble necklace check it out here.
